Inspiring the next generation of great female thinkers

Empowering girls through education.

We aim to encourage an open debate of ideas, drive our students to enquire & create, get more girls into STEM and tech, and develop leadership, communication & problem-solving skills.

The Caroline Club

Our Inspiration: Caroline

The astronomer, Caroline Herschel (1750-1848), was the first female paid scientist and woman appointed to government in the UK. Caroline devoted her life to mapping the stars and contributing to our understanding of the universe, making continual waves in the scientific world, especially for a woman of her time.

Caroline serves as a role model for Minds Underground as her intellectual independence and artistic & scientific drive inspire us. Much like our modern era, the 18th Century was a period of innovation and discovery and we strive to inspire more Carolines to create, enquire and explore through their own intellectual endeavours.

We want more girls in boardrooms, more girls in labs, more girls in tech and more girls to realise the immense possibilities open to them in our fast-moving world.

“The more I study, the more insatiable do I feel my genius for it to be”. ⠀⠀

— Ada Lovelace (The first ever computer programmer)

  • Code for Girls

    Get Into Coding

Could you be the next big female tech entrepreneur? Only 27% of female students surveyed by PwC said they would consider a career in technology, compared to 61% of males, and only 3% said it is their first choice. Let’s change that! Check out our coding courses here.

  • STEM Club

    Get Into STEM

Did you know women only make up 14.4% of all people working in STEM in the UK, despite being about half of the workforce? We’re here to change that with our “Science beyond the classroom” classes, discussing scientific developments and discoveries. You will gain exposure to a range of exciting disciplines, from traditional Chemistry and Physics to Earth Sciences, Material Science, Psychological and Behavioural Sciences.

  • Extracurricular Courses

    Literature

An opportunity for students to broaden their horizons in literature, to consider writers from across the globe. Exciting topics ranging from “An Anthology of Contemporary African Women's Writing” to looking at authors who write in multiple languages, such as Nabokov’s Lolita. Hosted by members of our Oxbridge-educated team, from a Fellow at all Soul’s College, University of Oxford, to published authors and poets!

  • Debate For Girls

    Debate

Globally, women hold just 24% of senior leadership positions. Debating provides you with the critical thinking and research skills needed to succeed in top universities and workplaces. Develop public speaking, analysis of arguments and strategic thinking skills so you can command the boardroom. You will learn from UK National Debate Team coaches who will give you the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed.
