This is a five-day, hands-on, real-world innovation challenge designed for Year 12 students who want to gain experience applying AI to solve genuine business problems.

Northeastern University London’s AI Futures Challenge is now open for registration for February 2026.
This is a five-day, hands-on, real-world innovation challenge designed for Year 12 students who want to gain experience applying AI to solve genuine business problems.
From 16th–20th February 2026, participants work individually or in teams of 2–3 to create solutions to an industry-sponsored challenge set by one of Northeastern’s partner start-ups. Students receive guidance from university academics and industry specialists throughout the week.
The final project can be submitted in one of several flexible formats:
a portfolio of work,
a video or recorded presentation, or
a presentation with notes.
This experience allows students to:
Solve a real-world business challenge using AI
Develop practical skills, networks, and digital credentials for future university applications
Explore interdisciplinary teamwork in action
Gain a competitive edge in personal statements and interviews
Compete for a £1,000 scholarship towards first-year tuition at Northeastern University London
Open to:
Students in their penultimate year (equivalent to UK Year 12).
Teams or individuals may enter; all team members must register.
Deadline:
16th–20th February 2026. The week includes academic drop-ins and optional pre-work. Students may complete the challenge at their own pace.
