Royal Geographic Society: Young Geographer of the Year

2022 Essay Competition

Overview

The Young Geographer of the Year serves as the Society's annual contest aimed at acknowledging the remarkable achievements of upcoming geographers. Covering age groups from primary school to A Level, the competition encourages insightful and imaginative responses to its annually designated theme. The Society actively encourages schools to organise their own internal contests, from which the top 10 entries are submitted for the international competition. Having been in existence for over two decades, the Young Geographer competition drew participation from more than 10,000 young individuals in 2020.

Deadline:

The Young Geographer of the Year competition 2024 will open in early April and details will be posted here once we are accepting entries. The competition is likely to close for entries in early October.
