Debate, Advocacy & Public Speaking Summer Course for Teens
For Students Aged 14–17 | 5 Days | Live Online | Starts July 27th
Our Debate & Public Speaking Summer Course for Teens (14–17) is designed to help students develop confidence, persuasive speaking skills, and structured argument. Through live online sessions led by experienced mentors, students learn how to build arguments, respond to challenges, and communicate ideas clearly, valuable skills for Oxbridge interviews, school debate competitions, and academic success.
What Will Students Learn?
Over five days, students will:
Master the art of public speaking and structured argument
Build skills in rebuttal, rapid response, and on-the-spot thinking
Explore pressing topics like climate change, ethics, and technology
Gain confidence for Sixth Form/ University interviews, essay competitions, and debate clubs
Receive personalised feedback and a final performance review
Each session includes practical activities, group debates, individual speeches, and expert coaching — led by a seasoned debating champion and Oxbridge graduate.
Who Is This Course For?
Students applying to Oxford, Cambridge, or Russell Group universities
Teenagers looking to join their school’s debating or Model UN teams
Anyone who wants to speak with confidence in front of others
Aspiring lawyers, leaders, or anyone interested in logic and persuasive thinking
No previous debating experience is required — just curiosity and enthusiasm!
Meet the Tutor
Arran, your course leader, studied Theology at the University of Oxford and was also awarded the Karsh Scholarship at Duke University. He has extensive experience in debating, public speaking, and coaching students in argumentation and advocacy. Arran founded and ran debate and discussion societies at both Eton and Oxford, leading sessions on structured argument, rebuttal, and persuasive speaking.
Alongside his debating experience, Arran is an experienced tutor who regularly works with students aged 14–17, supporting essay writing, interview preparation, and Oxbridge-style thinking. His sessions focus on clear reasoning, confident communication, and the ability to respond intelligently under pressure, essential skills for debates, interviews, and academic success.
