This masterclass is a debating workshop in the Oxford Union debate format. The Oxford Union has played host to a range of inspiring speakers, recent debates including Nick Clegg vs Nigel Farage on the subject of EU membership and Angela Davis for extremism in defence of liberty. In this masterclass, you will learn what it takes to become a great speaker including how to improve your structure, how to avoid points being ‘under-analysed’, how to impact better, how to bring depth and nuance to your analysis. Get ready to prepare debate cases and put them to the test!

  • Host: Maxim has had extensive exposure to the Oxford Union debate format through two terms on the Oxford Union Committee. Maxim achieved a place to read Law at Cambridge University in 2015 among over 20 applicants to the Cambridge college he applied to, but instead went on to read History and Politics at Oxford, an astounding feat in which he was accepted to both universities!
