The Conundrum: Elon Musk’s dream has come true - we have found another planet that could support human life. However, there is a problem - there are only 200 spaces on the ship. The world’s population is 7.9 billion. Who should we take?

You have up to 1000 words to put forward your solution!

Top Tips:

  • You could think of groups of people e.g. scientists, astronomers, politicians, law-makers, children, adults…

  • You could think of individuals e.g. the Queen, Elon Musk, Boris Johnson, Greta Thunberg…

  • Make sure your structure your argument - include an introduction, then plan out each paragraph, going through each of your main points

  • Include a range of evidence, persuasive devices e.g. rhetorical questions, three-part lists
